“I’ve been a fan of Brittlestars’ vision of Canada for awhile now. But his online coverage of the recent Royal Wedding and his annual insights of the spring Swan Parade in his hometown of Stratford took my breath away.” said Angie Hallman, Canada Day In Wilmot Committee Chair. “We genuinely look forward to having him join us for Canada Day and celebrating family, community and country.”

Announcement From The Canada Day In Wilmot Committee

For Immediate Release

New Hamburg ON – May 17, 2018 -  On July 1, 2017 seven thousand proud Canadians enthusiastically came together in New Hamburg to celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation and to enjoy a traditional Canada Day event with an exciting unprecedented level of entertainment.

All the efforts of the volunteers, service clubs, entertainers, athletes and vendors made this possible and they were rewarded with high praise for their efforts on a very memorable Canada Day. The event concluded with a firework display the likes Wilmot Township has never seen before.

With the 36th straight Canada Day celebration being held in New Hamburg for all of Wilmot Township to enjoy, the Canada Day in Wilmot Committee must regretfully announce that a modest admission to this year’s event will need to be charged.

“Our hope was to keep this event free for all attendees. A shortfall in last year’s public donations and declining corporate sponsor support this year has made it difficult to maintain the expected quality of entertainment and attractions our community deserves to celebrate Canada Day.” said Angie Hallman, Canada Day in Wilmot Committee Chair.

Thanks to the support of the various private and corporate donors as well as the sponsor support we have so far, the goal will be to keep the event extremely affordable, possibly Five dollars or less per person.  Any additional support that may come in before the big day may help reduce the entrance fee.
